about
In collaboration with Canadian duo Beach Season, comprised of Sam Avant and Simon Blitzer, GANZ unveils “Damage”. This latest partnership has involved international cooperation like no other. Bringing the lyrical ingenuity to life, Beach Season’s euphoric vocals pair seamlessly with lavish lofi beats. They explain, “The lyrics for “Damage” were inspired by the notion of mindless self-indulgence, even at the cost of one's own well-being. The main root of the song centres around catharsis - a release that Sam and Simon felt even as they composed the lyrics. We have all experienced the need to be self-destructive in order to move past trauma or feel emotion.”
lyrics
Chorus
I just came here to do damage, classic You say I can't change can't break all my Habits, manic
Never really had a taste for lavish, plastic But the way that you shine,
Takes it all off my mind
Verse
Unless i get my way
I'm under the weight
More weight
Till i can't feel my two legs I’ll go
Where you end up Down i go
There's a hundred things that you want baby 20 something don’t waste your grace
If you wanna try
Run and hide but you
Got a couple demons that do
Chorus
Damage, classic
You say I can't change can't break all my Habits, manic
Never really had a taste for lavish, plastic But the way that you shine,
Takes it all off my mind
Verse
Going out like a landslide
Leave me buried in a paradise
Broken bottles in a bar fight
Left less bruises than a kiss and a good night
Never saw you as wicked god as a witness all of its true Where you end up i'll go too
Bridge
There's a hundred things that you want baby 20 something don’t waste your grace
If you wanna try
Run and hide but you
Got a couple demons that do
Chorus
Damage, classic
You say I can't change can't break all my Habits, manic
Never really had a taste for lavish, plastic But the way that you shine,
Takes it all off my mind
